Political Education Committee (PEC)
The Pennsylvania Restaurant Association’s (PRA) Political Education Committee (PEC) raises individual and corporate contributions to educate federal, state and local elected officials on issues affecting the restaurant and foodservice industry. The work of the PRA-PEC is to protect and promote the industry in Pennsylvania fighting anti-business initiatives at the state and local levels.
On Capitol Hill, PRA is engaged in issues such as menu labeling, union card check (EFCA), business meal deductibility, restaurant inspection, food safety and the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. With many legislative issues being shifted to the state level, it is as important as ever to keep our PRA-PEC fund strong. PEC funds are also instrumental in supporting PRA’s professional lobbying efforts, PRA’s Annual Legislative Day in Harrisburg and the NRA’s Public Affairs Conference in Washington, DC.
The Pennsylvania Restaurant Association extends its thanks and appreciation to all of its members who contributed to the PRA Political Education Committee (PEC). Political education such as the Legislative Day & Gala reception become a reality because of these generous contributions.
