Political Action Committee (PAC)
The Pennsylvania Restaurant Association's Political Action Committee (PRA-PAC) maximizes the political strength of Pennsylvania's restaurant industry and helps the PRA to represent and protect our restaurants and associated businesses from legislation that threatens the competitiveness of our industry.
The PRA-PAC works hard to raise personal contributions from restaurant owners, managers, and employees to support candidates for the Pennsylvania House and Senate who appreciate the importance of our industry and understand our legislative priorities and the impact on our businesses.
Thanks in large part to our PAC donors, our association’s profile has risen in recent years, and we have enjoyed increased legislative impact and success. Our increasing visibility, however, brings greater expectations for our PAC to do more to support the campaign committees of key lawmakers, committee chairs, and caucus leaders in the General Assembly.
Our industry faces legislative opportunities and also threats each and every day. A larger PAC will help ensure that our views are heard on a wide range of important issues including menu labeling, union card check (EFCA), business meal deductibility, food safety and liquor code priorities including eliminating the Johnstown Flood Tax for licensees.
The Pennsylvania Restaurant Association extends its thanks and appreciation to all of its members who contributed to the PRA and NRA Political Action Committee (PAC). Political action funds are used strictly for campaign contributions to support candidates who support the concerns of the restaurant industry.
PAC Freedom Club levels
- President's Club - $2,500 and up
- Cabinet Club - $1,000 to $2,499
- Speaker's Club - $500 to $999
- Senate Club - $250 to $499
- House Club - to to $250
