PRA Committees

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is the governing body of the association and consists of the Chairperson; Vice Chairperson; Treasurer; Immediate Past-Chairperson; one (1) representative designated by each of the five (5) largest Chapters, specifically the Philadelphia-Delaware Valley Chapter, the Western Chapter, the Central Chapter, the Lancaster Chapter, and the Brandywine Chapter; six (6) to eleven (11) at-Large Directors appointed by the Chairperson; and Qualified Past Chairpersons.  In addition, the Association’s President & CEO is a non-voting member.  The Executive Committee has the full authority to act on behalf of the Board during the time period between meetings of the Board.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee targets audiences for membership, successfully enrolling new members while retaining current members.  The committee regularly reviews the PRA’s membership strategies and targeted budgetary goals, while also coordinating the tangible and intangible benefits that members receive by joining and supporting the organization.

Alcohol Service Committee

The Alcohol Service Committee reviews, researches and formulates plans to oppose or support current and pending alcohol related legislation.

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee reviews proposed laws and rules, taking timely action to support or oppose issues that affect the organization and the profession.  It organizes efforts to oppose unfavorable regulations and support favorable laws in state agencies and in legislature.

POWER PAC/PEC Committee

To make the Pennsylvania General Assembly not only pro-business but also pro-restaurant.  To raise personal, voluntary contributions from the Association’s membership and like minded individuals, and in return, POWER PAC will support candidates for state office who have demonstrated support for the concerns of the restaurant industry.  To raise voluntary contributions from the Association’s membership and like minded individuals and business entities, and in return, POWER PEC will educate and inform the general public and the Pennsylvania General Assembly about the concerns and interests of the restaurant industry.

Education, Health & Safety Committee

The Health and Safety Committee plans cost effective, profitable workshops, seminars and classes that further the professional educational goals of the PRA’s membership.  The committee also serves as a legislative watchdog against anti-industry legislation and regulations relative to food safety and health.

Trade Show Committee

The Trade Show Committee is responsible to plan the organization and execution of the PA Restaurant and Foodservice Expo, including partnerships, exhibitions, competitions, sponsorships, and revenue projection.
